1. Who We Are
Pump & Plug is provided by Alki Labs Ltd (“Alki Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Contact:
- Company: Alki Labs Ltd
- Email: support@alkilabs.co.uk
- Postal address: 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX
If you are in the UK, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data.
2. What Pump & Plug Does
Pump & Plug helps drivers in the UK:
- find nearby fuel forecourts and EV charge points;
- compare available fuel prices and charging-location details;
- save favourite locations;
- plan stops for journeys;
- open directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, or the device maps app;
- use optional Plus features, including an ad-free experience and additional
filtering/personalisation features.
The app is designed so that core search can work without creating an account. At the date of this draft, Pump & Plug does not offer account registration or login.
3. Personal Data We Process
Location Data
If you allow location access, the app uses your device location to find nearby forecourts and charge points and to estimate distances. Location is used in the app for search, map display, route planning, and navigation handoff.
If you allow background location, Pump & Plug uses it for v1 only when CarPlay is connected, so nearby fuel and charging data can refresh from your current area while the phone app is not open.
We do not currently run our own user account system, and we do not intentionally store a history of your precise location on our servers.
Your device operating system controls location permission. You can withdraw location permission at any time in iOS or Android settings. If you deny location permission, the app can still show fallback or searched results, but nearby results may be less accurate.
Favourites And Preferences
The app stores some choices locally on your device, including:
- favourite stations and charge points;
- preferred vehicle, fuel, connector, amenity, distance, and MPG settings;
- default nearby search radius;
- preferred navigation app;
- theme and app icon choices;
- analytics consent choice;
- personalised ads choice.
These settings are used to make the app work as requested. They are stored using local device storage unless a feature clearly uses an external provider, such as subscriptions, analytics, ads, or error reporting.
Product Analytics
If you choose to share app analytics, we use Mixpanel to understand how people use Pump & Plug and where the product needs improvement. Analytics are optional. The app asks for your consent, and analytics events do not fire before consent.
Examples of analytics events include:
- opening station details;
- adding or removing a favourite;
- changing fuel, connector, vehicle, distance, or search preferences;
- loading search or map results;
- changing filters, sort mode, view mode, or radius;
- starting navigation;
- creating a trip plan.
We do not intentionally send email addresses, phone numbers, full names, or precise addresses as Mixpanel analytics properties. The app currently has no login flow, so we do not identify users with an account ID.
You can turn analytics on or off at any time in Settings.
Advertising Data
Free users see banner ads. Plus users do not see ads.
We use Google AdMob to show ads. The app asks free users whether they allow personalised ads. If you decline, the app still shows ads but requests non-personalised ads from Google. You can change this choice in Settings.
Google and its advertising partners may process device and ad-related information to deliver, measure, limit, and protect ads. Their processing is governed by their own privacy terms and consent frameworks.
Purchases And Subscriptions
Pump & Plug Plus subscriptions are handled through Apple App Store or Google Play billing and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
RevenueCat may process subscription status, product identifiers, purchase tokens, platform, device, app version, and related transaction metadata so the app can check whether Plus is active and restore purchases.
Error Reporting And Feedback
If configured for a build, we use Sentry for crash/error reporting and in-app feedback. Sentry may receive diagnostic information such as app version, device type, operating system, error traces, timestamps, and feedback you choose to submit.
When you use the feedback form, do not include sensitive information unless it is necessary for us to understand the issue.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Pump & Plug may show app notifications related to features you use, such as favourite price alerts, background refresh status, or future nearby alerts. Notification permission is controlled by your device operating system and can be changed in iOS or Android settings.
Notification content may include app status information or references to stations or charge points you have chosen to save or monitor. Do not rely on a notification as the only source of fuel-price, charging, route, or availability information.
Fuel And Charging Data Requests
The app retrieves fuel and charging data from external sources and/or our backend. Current data sources include:
- Fuel Finder data made available by the UK fuel-price data service, accessed
through our backend or bundled fallback data; - Open Charge Map for EV charging-location data when configured;
- map providers for map tiles and location display;
- navigation providers when you choose to open directions.
When you open a third-party map or navigation app, that provider handles your data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Mixpanel is configured to use EU data residency by default for product analytics.
7. How Long We Keep Data
Retention depends on the data type:
- local app settings and favourites remain on your device until you change
them, clear app data, or uninstall the app; - analytics data is retained according to the Mixpanel project retention
settings used by Alki Labs Ltd; - crash and feedback records are retained only as long as needed to diagnose
issues, improve reliability, and manage support; - purchase records are retained as required by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, tax,
accounting, and consumer-law obligations; - backend logs are retained for a limited operational period, unless needed for
security, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.
Before publication, Alki Labs Ltd should insert exact retention periods for server logs, support tickets, analytics, Sentry, and purchase records.

11. Data Accuracy And Third-Party Data
Fuel prices, opening hours, amenities, charge-point availability, connector details, and map/navigation results can be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We use data sources that may change without notice. You should confirm critical information at the location before relying on it.
12. Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy as the app, providers, legal requirements, or company details change. Material changes will be reflected in the app, website, or store listing as appropriate.
